The highly-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will finally launch today at an unpacked event in Barcelona at 7pm Central European Time (CET). Since the past few months, Samsung’s latest flagship models have been the subject of speculations and we wrote about color, price and special editions of the phones.
Now, that the judgment day has arrived, consumers can watch the full event from comforts of their home by downloading the Unpacked 360 View app from the Google Play. The apps is specially designed to help you watch the event in 360-degree VR-style view, which means that you can select four different viewing angles for watching the event. The viewing options include: from stage left, stage right, the auditorium and from center stage.
You need to have an Android or iOS phone or a PC to watch the live streaming of the event. For special effects, use a Gear VR headset that allows you to watch the launch event by using the app of the event in three-dimensional view.
Pre-order of the two phones will start as soon as they launch. A new Force Touch technology used in the devices just like the Apple iPhone 6s is said to draw huge attention. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is expected to come in two different chipsets- Samsung’s own Exynos chipset and the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. Apart from this, the S7 and S7 Edge will supposedly feature a massive 3,600mAH battery and microSD card slots, reports The Indian Express.
GSM Arena reports that the Samsung Galaxy S7 will sport a 5.1-inch super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen. It will be based upon Android 6.0 Marshmallow and will be powered by Adreno 530 Mali-T880 MP12 GPU, 12MP rear camera and 5MP front camera and 3,000mAH battery.
A special edition of the Samsung Galaxy S7 based on Batman versus Superman theme is due in March. We reported earlier about the superhero theme-based ringtones, wallpapers, etc., likely to appear on the device. To read more, click here.
