Samsung Galaxy phones are the most coveted tech products unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona last month. Right now, the Galaxy S7 and the Galaxy S7 Edge are the two hottest properties in the market. Of the two devices, we’ll talk about the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and how it compares to its elder sibling, the Galaxy S6 Edge in terms of specifications and pricing.
Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge has a medium-sized screen measuring 5.1-inches with 142mm x 70mm (LxW) dimensions. On the other hand, the Galaxy S7 Edge has a slightly bigger screen 5.5-inch AMOLED display screen, reports Yibada. The QHD resolution is the same for both phones at 1440×2560 pixels.

While the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is based upon Android v5.0.2 Marshmallow, which is upgradable to v6.0.1 Marshmallow, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge runs on the latest Android v6.0 Marshmallow OS. The Galaxy S6 Edge runs on quad-core 1.5GHz Cortex-A53 and quad-core 2.1.0 GHz Cortex a-57. It has Exynos 7420 octa chipset, reports GSM Arena. The Galaxy S7 Edge, on the other hand, is powered by two dual core Kryo processors along with two quad-core Cortex-A53 processors. It has Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 Exynos 8890 octa chipset.
Good news for Samsung Galaxy S7 edge owners since the device supports extra memory storage with microSD card slot expandable up to 200GB. The phone appears in 32GB and 64GB variants with 4GB of RAM. However, the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge lacks a microSD card slot; one of its fatal flaws.
The rear camera on the Galaxy S6 Edge is 16MP and the front camera is 5MP. On the contrary, the Galaxy S7 Edge has a 12MP rear camera characterized by an LED flash, a phase detection autofocus technology and f/1.7 aperture. The front shooter is 5MP.
Leveraged by a non-removable 2600mAH battery, the Galaxy S6 Edge offers up to 18 hours of talk time. In comparison to that, the Galaxy S7 Edge has a more powerful 3600mAH battery.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge is priced at Rs. 40,900 ($604.27). According to AndroidPit, the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is priced at $794.00 on AT&T.
An analysis of both phone reveal that the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge is better than the Galaxy S6 Edge with regards, to display, processor and battery.
