Samsung has yet to complete the release of the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its intended devices. As the Korean tech giant rolls out specific versions to different markets, users also have the option to upgrade their devices via custom ROM.
Samsung Galaxy S5 Android 6.0 Marshmallow Custom ROM
It has always been a waiting game for users whenever a new Android update shows up. The delayed releases have prompted the age of custom ROMs where people get to experience Android differently but almost identical to the actual firmware. This time, Samsung’s Galaxy S5 is treated to the PhoeniX v12.6 custom ROM.
Specifically, the PhoeniX v12.6 custom ROM is compatible with the Galaxy S5 LTE model. On top of the usual treats that the Android 6.0 Marshmallow offers, the custom ROM provides extended battery life, performance enhancement tweaks, shortcut to settings, Galaxy S7 features, Galaxy C5 such as Wallpaper picker, ultra data saving mode, App lock, and numerous value-added personalization option.
According to International Business Times, the Android Marshmallow-based PhoeniX v12.6 custom ROM is made available by software developer community TD ROMs.
Users are advised to understand the whole flashing process before proceeding with the update. They should also back up all information to avoid problems in the future. Users should also be aware that trying out custom ROMs could result to warranties being voided. Samsung will also no longer be liable for future problems.
Disclaimer: Providers of the update cannot be held responsible for what happens to the device following the upgrade. Users should update at their own risk.
