Invicta FC featherweight Cris Cyborg did not mince her words when asked who she would want to fight next. Recent Ronda Rousey next fight updates suggested that ‘Rowdy’ will likely face Cyborg soon, and the latter declared that she is ready for the challenge.
The two have never met inside the Octagon, but that will soon change if Cyborg continues her public pronouncements against Rousey. This isn’t the first time tensions have escalated between the pair as both fighters have already exchanged verbal jabs at each other many times in the past.
Rolling Stone recalled the time when Cyborg said Rousey had a weak mind for contemplating suicide after her devastating loss to Holly Holm. Cyborg also posted a video on Instagram showing her doing the Running Man challenge and wearing a cardboard cutout of Rousey on her face.
Rousey, meanwhile, shot back by saying Cyborg should be charged with attempted homicide for using PEDs in her fights. Ronda Rousey’s next fight has been moved several times.
Fast-forward to this week, Cyborg told TMZ that while she would be amenable to a showdown with current UFC women’s bantamweight champion Miesha Tate, her top priority is still Ronda Rousey.
“Me and Ronda have a novella together, and you have to finish a novella,” Cyborg explained. When quizzed about how their novella will end, Cyborg said, “I’ll kill her. I put everything she said about me in my hands.”
In a separate interview with The MMA Hour, Cyborg was asked if her camp has ever contacted Dana White for a possible Rousey vs. Cyborg clash. She responded by saying that the fight does not need to be asked. She claimed the UFC already knows the fight would be a big MMA event.
“I think it would be an amazing fight and all fans would see it,” Cyborg mused. “I think it would be the biggest fight ever. Me and Ronda Rousey. Everybody wanna watch.”
