Rick Trotter Memphis: PA Announcer Wanted By Police

Rick Trotter, a PA announcer for the Memphis Grizzlies, is now wanted by the police. A warrant is out for his arrest after he allegedly took photos of people without consent while at a church.

Trotter rose to fame when he landed a job as PA announcer for the the Memphis Grizzlies. He has been around long enough to have established his own catch phrase. In his case, it’s “shot clock violated.” When information was released that there is warrant on Trotter, though, a number of organizations were quick to dump Trotter in light of his charges.

Memphis Grizzlies Dumps Rick Trotter

The Memphis Grizzlies released a brief statement on Trotter to Local Memphis saying, “Rick Trotter is no longer affiliated with the Grizzlies organization and we have no further comment on the matter.”

According to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, there are now three warrants for Trotter’s arrest, all for photographing persons without consent. All three warrants come with a $75,000 bond.

A previous NBA feature on Trotter revealed that his chances on landing the PA announcer job for the Grizzlies were a “long shot.” After all, it is a profession typically dominated by television and radio broadcasters.

As for Trotter, his only job experience that came close to a PA announcer was a worship leader at the Fellowship Bible Church. Nonetheless, Trotter managed to impress the crowd during the auditions and soon, he was living his dream. In fact, Trotter became quite a celebrity. He even told Fansided during an interview last year that he had a hard time going to the grocery store without getting recognized.

Church Admits To Firing Rick Trotter As Well

Today, however, it seems that Trotter is left with no career and just negative press all over. A church that he is a member of even said that they don’t want to be associated with the former PA announcer anymore.

In a statement, Downtown Church admitted that they had terminated Trotter as their employee last May 27. “This was the result of deception and moral failures of a sexual nature,” the organization added.

As of the moment, Trotter’s whereabouts remains unknown.
