HTC has been reportedly working on a new device called the HTC One M10. While most details of smartphone releases come from leaks, HTC is not having any of it. The company just disclosed more information about the HTC One M10, drawing more attention as to whether it can actually be a contender against newly released handsets this quarter.
According to HTC, the One M10 variant should feature a chamfered design along with antenna bands on the back panel. Furthermore, there are also reports saying that HTC will try to create a more premium look for the device, as reported by Yibada. It also appears that HTC is gunning to have two chipset variants: one running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor and another running on Media processor.
Another report from Tech Radar suggests that HTC’s Chief Financial Officer once claimed that the company will improve the One M10’s camera with big changes. The HTC One M9 was previously touted as a powerful and beautiful handset but it fell short on the camera, battery and familiar design. This time, HTC seems to be willing to take the extra mile in ensuring that its next handset will be highly reviewed than its previous one.
Other expected features include AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors, 5.1-inch screen, 1440 x 2560 pixels (~576 ppi pixel density)resolution, Corning Gorilla Glass 4, improved HTC Sense UI running on Android OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow). The company is also expected to include a micro SD slot that can accommodate upt to 200GB memory. Internal storage is touted to be around 4GB RAM and 32GB. The camera will reportedly be a 12 MP shooter complete with f/2.0, OIS, laser autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, HDR and panorama capabilities.
Once HTC releases the HTC One M10, it will go against the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5 and Xiaomi Mi 5.
