Rockstar could be announcing Red Dead Redemption 2 soon judging from the rumors circulating in the gaming community. The game was expected to be announced in this year’s E3 but was ultimately a no show at the expo.
Rockstar’s parent publisher, Take-Two Interactive is already confirmed as exhibitor at this year’s Gamescom in Cologne. The developer has already announced plans for a new project and fans are hoping that this is THE project.
According to Express, Take-Two Interactive has been listed to exhibit the products under Action/Adventure, Sport and Strategy. Since the first game was placed under the Action/Adventure genre, Red Dead Redemption 2 could be announced in Cologne this year.
In Take-Two’s official fiscal reports, the company stated that Rockstar Games is hard at work on some exciting future projects. Notably, they also said the same thing in July while refraining to go into further detail.
While there is still no detail regarding the third installment to the western-style action/adventure title, some already have an idea of what’s to come. Rockstar could be planning to replicate the successful Grand Theft Auto 5.
More People More Fun?
According to Gamerant, rumors suggest that the third installment could be launching with multiple protagonists. While the previous game did contain two characters, it followed a central plotline as opposed to GTA 5.
The idea has already been field-tested with great success giving no reason for Rockstar to be implementing it in another game. This development is, however, based on rumors so before an official announcement is made, it is best to take any news with a grain of salt.
Gamescom 2016 will be held from August 18 to 21 in Cologne. Aside from Take-Two, other confirmed exhibitors include Microsoft, Bandai-Namco, and Focus Home Interactive.
Will Read Dead Redemption 2 or a Read Dead title make an appearance at the event?
