ABC has renewed “Quantico” for Season 2 and show runner Josh Safran did some exciting teasing as to what fans should expect.
Fans would remember that Season 1 began with a controversial domestic terrorist attack. Newbie FBI agent Alex Parrish, played by Priyanka Chopra, was initially tagged as the suspect. Revelations then unfold through series of flashbacks and flashforwards. Each new character introduced as the story unfolds became new suspects. Viewers eventually find themselves in a roller coaster ride with each complicated twist and turns.
Speaking with TVLine, Safran teased that the Season 2 will pick up from the eve of midseason premiere. Alex “having to come to the carpet to explain her actions, and what she perceives as having transpired,” he said coyly. He then added: “Much like Alex being on the run gave us a drive for the first half of the season, Alex is tasked into doing something that she’ll be forced to do for the rest of the season. And it is within that the motor of the second half exits and is quite strong.” Safran teased more: “It goes where you don’t expect. There are pretty big things that are about to happen.”
According to Cinema Blend, ABC has so much confidence in the show because it has a huge market base in the DVR . In an average of over 1.5 million, more viewers catch the “Quantico” episodes during the week after it has been aired initially. Even if the number of viewers watching in real time seems to decline as the show progresses, it still has significant followers. And for ABC, this is enough of a reason to bring fans their much coveted season 2.
