“Quantico,” starring Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra, started off strong as far as ratings are concerned. The premiere episode of the new series kicked off Sunday, and owing to its impressive cast and interesting storyline, it was accepted quite well. The ratings it received from the 18-49 age group was 1.9 against “Sunday Night Football.”
“Quantico” was the highest-rated drama that debuted on Sunday night, and it crossed “Blood & Oil,” another drama, by 36% in ratings. The ratings for “Blood & Oil” was 1.4. Last fall, “Revenge” was telecast in the 10 p.m. slot and “Quantico” even crossed that premiere by 46%. It seems that the drawing power of the Bollywood beauty is doing the magic.
A whopping 7.1 million viewers watched the American television series starring Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra. This was the best number ABC has generated for the 10 p.m. slot on Sunday since May 2012.
Chopra looked stunning as Alex in the show that deals with a terror attack. While the beginning may look a bit fuzzy for many with its flashbacks, it surely has the material of becoming a hit television series.
The show is currently moving towards a phase where Alex will have to find out who is behind the attack to set herself free. It is one of the most feminist shows on national TV, according to many. The story has a handful of women in it but each of them has a good role to play than just being the love interest of a man.
