Kate Middleton and Prince William are apparently sad that their official visit to Cornwall coincides with the death anniversary of Princess Diana. Was this done on purpose by Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall?
It is a known fact that the 67-year-old royal has no respect for his ex-wife. Scheduling the visit of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on Diana’s 19th death anniversary may have been a ploy by Charles to keep the couple away from the princess’ memories too.
Prince Harry recently admitted during an official engagement that he that he regretted never speaking about his mom for a long time as he feared that he would hurt his dad Charles and his wife Camilla. Prince William, 34, admitted that he misses his mother during an official visit to Keech Hospice on Wednesday, Celebrity Dirty Laundry reports.
Kate Middleton, Prince William has always been trying to honor the memory of the late People’s Princess in various ways. On Thursday, during a visit to a mental health helpline, William became emotional talking about Diana, Celebrity Dirty Laundry reports.
Charles recently dissed Princess Diana by naming his wife Camilla and his grandmother –the Queen Mother as the two most important women in his life. He completely ignored Diana’s role in his life and her contribution to the British royal family.
He rather paid tribute to his 69-year-old wife by naming a pub in her name in Dorset. The prince also has plans for a statue of the late Queen Mother to be erected in the square named in her honor at Poundbury, his model town in Dorset.
Princess Diana died on August 31, 1997 following a tragic car accident in Paris. William and Harry came to know of their mother’s death only the next morning. The news would have been traumatic for the then 15-year-old William, and 12-year-old Harry.
The Duke and Duchess have 11 engagements lined up over Sep.1 and Sep.2 in Cornwall and the Isle of Sicily. Since Charles and Camilla are the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, if the trip was necessary, they should have been the ones to tour the area.
The Duke and Duchess are very much looking forward visiting Cornwall and the Scilly Isles. Stay tuned for updates on the day!
