The battery is the lifeline of smartphones. If your device is not backed by a powerful battery, no matter how smart your phone is, it will be useless. Constantly charging phones does not only irritate us, but also affect the overall lifespan of our device.
Huawei has come up with a solution for this. The company has a new battery for smartphones that can charge 10 times faster than batteries available today. Huawei has manufactured two batteries with different charging speeds:
3000 mAh lithium-ion battery: Charges up to 48% in 5 minutes
600 mAh lithium-ion battery: Charges up to 68% in 2 minutes
While talking about the powerful batteries, Huawei said, “Huawei is confident that this breakthrough in quick charging batteries will lead to a new revolution in electronic devices, especially with regard to mobile phones, electric vehicles, wearable devices, and mobile power supplies.” The company added, “Soon, we will all be able to charge our batteries to full power in the time it takes to grab a coffee.” With constant developments and major changes in technology, a powerful battery is truly the need of the hour.
According to Techno Buffalo, this new technology was developed in a division of Huawei Central Research Institute known as “Watt Lab.” Huawei spoke about these fast-charging batteries during the Battery Symposium in Japan. There are no devices that sport this Huawei battery, but there are many smartphones coming in 2016 that will be introduced with almost the latest technologies. If manufacturers find this battery worth investing into, we might have phones that charge up to 100% within minutes and last for days. Till then, have a look at this video:
