Familiarity breeds contempt, and even Pokemon GO is not immune to the truthfulness of that saying. Whether you love the game or not, it must be annoying to see updates about the game every time you open social media.
While the obvious choice would be to stay away from social media altogether, we all know that won’t be happening. Thankfully, there are a few tools that can help you clear the Pokespam on you newsfeed.
Lifehacker revealed a few Google Chrome plug-ins that will make it as if the game never existed. Given that hype about the game won’t be gone anytime soon, these are a probably necessary.
Pokemon GO Away
First off is Pokemon GO Away, which pretty much does its job as long as it’s enabled. Made developer Inti De Ceukelaire, it will remove all reference to the game every time you load Facebook, Twitter, or 9gag.
Next, is Pokemon NO, made by Conor Browne, it pretty much has the same function as the previous example. What makes it different is that it does it for all websites not just social media sites.
It may be a good option for those who don’t spend much time on social media but at the same time doesn’t want to read about the game while surfing the web. Just like GO Away, just push a button and presto, Pokemon references are gone.
With these great, and punny, tools, you won’t have to see any more posts about your friend’s Pokemon team or what their catch of the day is. Any articles pertaining to the game will also be hidden.
As they say, out of sight, out of mind and if you are living in countries where georestrictions of the game are in place, these tools are a godsend. Hopefully, Niantic solves the server problems that have plaguing the game since its release to allow everyone to enjoy Pokemon GO.
