Pokemon GO is literally getting people off their seats. People everywhere are wandering their local areas staring at their phones to catch virtual monsters. If you are one of them, Pokemon Go Plus is a must-have for you then.
If you’re one of the millions already hooked into the game, you’ve probably spent the past few weeks staring at your phone’s screen. As this can sometimes be inconvenient, Niantic will be releasing Pokemon GO Plus.
So what is Pokemon Go Plus exactly? And will it make the game more enjoyable than it already is?
According to Heavy, Pokemon GO Plus is a wearable device that comes out at the end of July. It is meant to be a companion device for the game and can be worn on the wrist or as a pin.
Notifications Of Nearby Pokemon
Tired of having to constantly look at your phone in search for Pokemon? Using LEDs and vibrations, the wearable notifies you about events in game such as nearby Pokemon.
It uses Bluetooth technology to connect with the player’s phone. And according to the Pokemon GO official website, the device allows the player to enjoy the game without having to take out their phone.
The device will begin to blink and vibrate when you are in the range of a Pokestop. Press the button to search the stop for items. If you find any items, you can tap or swipe them to add them to your inventory.
Catch Pokemon Without Using Your Phone
When a Pokemon is close, press the device’s button to throw a Pokeball to catch it. However, this will only work if you already captured the same species before.
The device will then blink and vibrate to notify you if you have successfully captured the Pokemon.
The item costs $34.99 which, given that the game is free-to-play, costs about the same as a standard Pokemon game. Think that it’s too expensive? It is already sold-out from stores both retail and online!
Some have already taken advantage of this lack of supply and are selling preorders for up to 7 times the original costs. If you are don’t want to shell out big bucks for a Pokemon GO Plus, a little patience would go a long way.
