Sony recently confirmed the inclusion of Kill Strain on the list of PlayStation Plus free games for July 2016. The company also announced that it will be hosting a PlayStation Plus open weekend from June 24 to 27. For four straight days, non-PS Plus subscribers can play their favorite online games free of charge.
Know More About ‘Kill Strain’ Shooting Game
Kill Strain is a 5-on-5 battle arena shooting game developed by Sony’s San Diego Studio. Two opposing human teams compete by gathering much needed resources while piling up kills along the way. A third team composed of mutants seek to spread their infection and slowly depopulate the human survivors.
According to San Diego Studio community manager Zach Thomas, via PlayStation Blog, the game will be available on PS4 starting July 12 for PS Plus subscribers. Everyone else can grab the game a week later on July 19.
Kill Strain is now in limited-access beta testing. San Diego Studio will be sending out player invites from June 29 to July 3 to have better feedback on the game before it releases. Gaming Bolt reported that testers who reach level 20 before July 4 will earn an exclusive in-game item called The Vanguard Vincent. Of course, they can only claim the prize by downloading the final version of the game later on.
PlayStation Plus Open Weekend
The PlayStation Plus open weekend will start at 10 a.m. ET on Friday and end at 10 a.m. ET on Monday. In that stretch of time, non-PS Plus subscribers can freely access the online multiplayer feature of PS4 titles like “Call of Duty: Black Ops 3,” “GTA 5 Online,” “The Division,” “Destiny” and “FIFA 16.”
Daily Express noted that the promo does not include cloud storage or any free games. But gamers have already expressed excitement over the treat from Sony, which will become before they officially unveil the complete PlayStation Plus free games for July 2016 list. It was previously reported that Resident Evil 6 and The Evil Within will also be available for free download next month.
