The Pitch Perfect franchise is ready to deliver its third installment in 2017. “Pitch Perfect 3” will see the return of Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson among other cast members.
Universal Pictures has confirmed the return of the two stars on Twitter, stating it will be a music-driven comedy releasing on July 21, 2017.
Kendrick seems to be quite excited with the threequel and announced the news with a selfie captioning “Happening #3” on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Kendrick is busy shooting for her upcoming comedy “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,” which is set to hit theaters on July 8, 2016. The film also stars Zac Efron, Adam DeVine, and Aubrey Plaza.
The star was spotted in a bright pink swimsuit sitting by the poolside. The 29-year-old star is certainly happy with the success of “Pitch Perfect 2,” the second biggest PG-13 comedy opening ever with a $70.3 million debut.
Elizabeth Banks, Max Handelman and Paul Brooks will also be coming back for “Pitch Perfect 3.” Banks directed “Pitch Perfect 2,” a box office hit with earnings of $260 millions worldwide. The movie was shot on a budget of $29 million, which means a huge profit was recorded.
The first Pitch Perfect movie was released on October 5, 2012. The opening was not as promising as its sequel, which is still playing in theaters.
“Pitch Perfect 3” may seem to take too long, but it’s worth waiting for something promising. According to Showbiz Junkies, screenwriter Kay Cannon is currently working on a deal with the third assignment.
