“Game Of Thrones” season six casting is on. As per the latest news, Danish actor Pilou Asbæk is on board for season six and he will be playing the role of Euron Greyjoy.
The character for the show is a skilled warrior. He is the uncle of Theon and Yara and the younger brother of Balon Greyjoy who is the lord of the Iron Islands. He is also the captain of the ship called Silence and is a skilled worrier, to say the least.
As “Game of Thrones” season six moves around the story of the Greyjoys, Euron is expected to play a pivotal role. The character is mentioned in George R.R. Martin’s book series but he finally appears in “A Feast for Crows.” Euron Greyjoy is also known as Crow’s Eye.
Asbæk is not the only the new actor to join the show. There are names like Ian McShane and Max von Sydow. Asbaek is a popular face in television and movies. “Lucy,” “The Borgias” and “Borgen” are there in his credit.
As far as the show’s fate is concerned, “Game of Thrones” has 24 nominations in the Emmy awards this year including outstanding drama category. Apart from that, supporting actress in a drama (Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey), guest actress in a drama (Diana Rigg), directing for a drama (David Nutter, Jeremy Podeswa) and writing for a drama (David Benioff, D.B. Weiss) nominations are there for the job.
