A review article by Washington Post has slammed Uncharted 4 unreasonably, stating the game should never have been dragged as a four-part series. The enraged fans took matters into their own hands and filed a petition at Change.org. The introduction reads, “You’re Washington post for Christ’s Sake , not a 12-year-old’s diary. Treat the game with professionalism and respect.”
As of writing, the petition has already been signed by almost 6,000 supporters. An earlier report on Kotaku said that the petition has been acknowledged and signed by Troy Baker (popular voice actor, voice of Joker in the Batman games). The petition expects the low Metacritic review score to be removed by the Washington Post.
Over the years, Michael Thomsen has been known for his veteran critiquing style against video games. He has crushed many beloved games like Dark Souls and Red Dead Redemption in the past. But the outburst of the gaming community was due to WP’s allegedly biased rating sent over to Metacritic (4/10).
The petition went on to say, “This guy doesn’t deserve to be taken seriously by big, crucial sites like Metacritic, It harms the Flawless reputation of the game for absolutely no reason. A review is not about what you think a game is, its about what a game is. Objective measures are applied.”
The wrath against Michael Thomsen went on to be publicly addressed through mean tweets, attacking him for his reviews.
The petition reads, “I believe U4 is one of the greatest games ever created and it is my personal favorite for sure, although i can justify some reviewers giving it a 9 or an 8. But this is a utter disgrace.”
