Peter Thiel, technological billionaire, created history on Thursday night when he publicly acknowledged that he is gay during the GOP convention.
The co-founder of PayPal is the first speaker in the party’s history to do so at the Republican National Convention (RNC). According to CNN, Thiel said that each and every American has a particular identity. He went on to say that he is proud to be gay and is also proud to be a Republican.
“But most of all, I am proud to be an American,” he said. It was because of him that many tech companies have seen initiations. The billionaire is an unconventional personality in Silicon Valley.
Thiel moved to the United States as a young child from Germany. He is known as a legendary sponsor and co-founder of PayPal. He also played the role of an early investor and is currently acting as a board member of Facebook. He got his education from Stanford and is renowned for paying students to drop out of college and do entrepreneurial work.
The co-founder of PayPal is also a staunch Libertarian. However, he had been providing vocal support towards Donald Trump for president.
A 2007 article entitled “Peter Thiel is totally gay, people” was published in one of Gawker’s site Valleywag. Since then, the speaker seemed fixated to destroy Gawker. He sponsored Hulk Hogan’s legal battle against Gawker Media. He confidentially informed that he had paid for some of Hogan’s lawsuit, which sued Gawker, said Heavy.

Gawker reported that a question everybody’s asking is why Trump had given the billionaire one of the most high-profile slots in the convention schedule. The publication answered the question by saying that while Trump needs ideas, the eccentric billionaire is looking for a political vessel for his own.
“I think Peter Thiel supports Donald Trump because he believes it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to weaken America’s attachment to democratic government,” Jeff Bercovici said in an essay in Inc. magazine.
