Things have started to get hot in “Person of Interest” episode 10 and creators have hit the accelerator to heat the situation up even further. The POI gang will be seen protecting the President of the United States and more!
‘Person of Interest’ Season 5
It is only natural that the creators of POI have to step up their game, what with the season 5 finale being the series finale as well. The fans got a glimpse of how dark the show can be, when Root, one of the main characters, gave up her life to protect Finch in the previous episode.
In an interview with TV Line, creators Jonah Nolan and Greg Plageman admitted that killing off Root and lending her voice to the Machine was always part of the plan, something they had hinted long back:
“And at Comic-Con three years ago, when asked, ‘When will The Machine get a voice?’ we did say, ‘Someday, but you won’t like how it happens.’ I think we fulfilled that mandate.”
However, the level of autonomy granted to the Machine at the cost of Root’s life can only be justified if the Machine actually manages to “kill” Samaritan. Is it where the Finale is headed?
‘Person of Interest’ Season 5 Episode 11
Before the viewers can find the answer to that question, Finch and his gang still have two more episodes to deal with, which will be exceptionally difficult, since Finch has gone rogue, leaving the team leaderless. According to International Business Times, the official synopsis of “Person of Interest” Season 5 Episode 11 reads:
“The team must unravel a conspiracy and stay ahead of the Secret Service when the President of the United States becomes their newest POI. Also, Finch separates himself from the team and considers taking drastic action to combat Samaritan.”
With both Finch and his team focusing on different missions, the audience can undoubtedly expect double the chaos and bloodshed in the coming episode.
‘Person of Interest’ Season 5 Episode 12, Finale
Even though not much is known about the theme of episode 12, one can assume that it has to be something big, being the penultimate episode of the series. Heading to the finale, the gang is going to reunite to face off against Samaritan full throttle.
The Finale, which is titled “Return 0,” will obviously be about the Machine versus Samaritan war to see who makes it to the end. The synopsis reads:
“Finch, Reese, Fusco and Shaw embark on one last mission to prevent Samaritan from destroying The Machine and cementing its hold over mankind, on the series finale of Person Of Interest.”
While that may not be much to go on, the ominous title suggests a possibility of the Machine sacrificing itself in order to destroy Samaritan or making sure that the latter is prevented from coming back.
So does Samaritan take down The Machine with it in the finale? Or will the Machine manage to hold on, despite all odds?
“Person of Interest” season 5 episode 11 will air on June 7 on CBS Network.
