With “Penny Dreadful” season 3 finally taking a bow on June 19, would fans see the relationship of Vanessa Ives (Eva Green) and Ethan Chandler (Josh Harnett) grow, or would it be too late for them already?
According to International Business Times, the promo for the upcoming episode of the horror-drama TV series on Showtime hinted about the fate of Harnett’s character, who is also known as Ethan Lawrence Talbot, when it comes to love.
“A woman offered me her heart, a woman I love, and I walked away,” Ethan said while talking to Kaetenay (Wes Studi), something which suggested about what to expected in “Penny Dreadful” season 3 episode 7. “I have to try and make it right.”
But while Ethan was wrapping his arms around Vanessa, as shown in another scene in the promo, Vanessa quipped that it was already “too late for them.” It was unclear, though, if she was referring to their relationship or “about Ethan’s attempt to save her.”
It can be recalled that in “Penny Dreadful” season 3 episode 6 titled “No Beast So Fierce,” Hecate Poole (Sarah Green) and Jared Talbot (Brian Cox), Ethan’s father, died. This prompted him to move back to London, which will make him meet Vanessa once again.
Considering their reunion, fans have been yearning for hints on what to expect.
Last year, showrunner Josh Logan dished to Entertainment Weekly that some characters will be alone in the fourth season. It was not cited, however, if Ethan and Vanessa will be among them.
In the meantime, Carter Matt reported that the short synopsis provided by the show suggested that a number of characters will be facing “doom” in the upcoming episode.
“Kaetenay has a vision of impending doom; Frankenstein and Jekyll get help from an unlikely foe; the Creature finally gains courage; Vanessa learns an awful truth,” the synopsis of “Penny Dreadful” season 3 episode 7 read.
