Marvel fans were shattered as much as Steve Rogers was when they lost the beloved Peggy in Captain America: Civil War. Although the studio was quick to fix our hero with another beautiful woman, it’s sort of bizarre that it’s none other than Peggy’s cousin, Kate (played by Emily Van Camp).
Peggy Carter would beat Captain America for kissing Kate
While Bucky (Sebastian Stan) and the Falcon (Anthony Mackie) were seen smiling as Steve and Kate kissed, we can’t say that Peggy Carter feels the same.
The young Peggy, played by Haley Atwell in “Agent Carter,” spoke during Dallas Comic Con Fan Expo. During her talk, Atwell shared a hilarious yet scary response regarding how Peggy would feel about Steve Rogers kissing Kate.
According to IGN, she said, “She’d be like ‘no.’ And she’d inject herself with the blue serum and become a super villain. She’d break out of her coffin and ground [Sharon]. She’d ground her. Then she’d kick Steve’s ass as well.”
“I just feel that, you know – I wouldn’t want to date my great aunt’s guy. It just feels like it crosses an incestuous boundary. And Peggy just died. That’s even more disrespectful, right? It’s like, ‘don’t touch that.’ You can’t tap that!”
Well, there you have it. That would be one Marvel superhero you wouldn’t want to see kiss someone else again. Unless you want Captain America share Peggy’s grave.
While some of us might have been happy that Steve was able to find love again, Atwell said, “[Peggy would] want the best for her [niece] and she’d want her dating a good guy. And now with this whole ‘Hail Hydra‘ business, I don’t know if Steve’s good enough for her. So on all levels, it’s just a big fat no.”
