Paige VanZant has kicked up her redemption run on a high note following an emphatic win over Bec Rawlings on UFC on Fox 21 at British Columbia.
It was her first match since losing to Rose Namajunas in December 2015. She had been making waves on “Dancing with the Stars,” where she wowed and finished runner-up.
Known for her good looks but dangerous skills inside the Octagon, VanZant’s dangerous nature came into full display against Rawlings. She held the flashiest win of the night, connecting to a switch kick that knocked out her adversary.
On To The Next Paige
From here, it remains to be seen what VanZant plans to do next. Proving she is a gem in Hollywood could be an option though she may want to fight some more.
It won’t be surprising if Paige wants to do a bit of both, something that Ronda Rousey tried to do. But that could take a lot out of her with her focus divided. And as everyone knows, that doesn’t always bode well for athletes.
After DWTS, it’s obvious that VanZant has a place in Hollywood. Her looks and special skill can be put to good use and there is even word that she may be headed to the WWE.
VanZant mentioned this in an interview with Sports Illustrated, sharing how she and the WWE have been in touch. The thing here is the she is a big fan and has this lined up in the future.
Bad News for Dana White?
If so, this could sound some sort of an alarm for Dana White who knows what VanZant is capable of. The UFC president is aware of the drawing power of VanZant though her place in the Octagon has been rocky.
Just the same, expect the UFC to hold on to VanZant for as long as they can.
