Taylor Swift’s multi-awarded song “Shake It Off” hit radio stations worldwide on 2014. But more than a great song, it served as an inspiration for a woman from Dunedin, New Zealand. She was so motivated to change her life that she documented her transformation on social media dancing to “Shake It Off.”
Donnalouise Gragg had been heavy ever since she can remember. When she got married, she weighed around 131.5 kilograms and this made it hard for her to become pregnant. She and her husband had been trying to conceive a child for almost a year to no avail. According to Daily Mail Australia, this prompted her to undergo a gastric bypass surgery.
It was effective! Within 10 months she had lost 71.5 kilograms. She revealed her incredible weight transformation on a YouTube video, dancing off to the tune of Taylor Swift‘s “Shake It Off.”
Gragg told Daily Mail Australia, “It’s very crushing to be told the only reason you are not pregnant is because of your weight but it’s always been a problem for me, I’ve been big all my life.”
She also confessed, “I’m great at losing weight and I’ve tried every diet possible but I always gained the weight back. I was addicted to food and it was scary to take something away that I got so much pleasure from, but it was important I do something.”
In a report by Mirror, she described her surgery as the “best decision” of her life after she just lost 70 kilograms. “Even with the dancing videos you can see the change in my attitude. I look so miserable at the beginning and I thought I was happy. I’m so much happier now… it’s crazy to remember where I came from,” she said describing herself in the video.
Her amazing transformation video showed her fitting in just one pant leg of a her old jeans by the end of the video. The next plan of course, is to get pregnant already.
