After the successful launch of Oppo F1 “selfie” focused smartphone in India last month, the Chinese tech firm has announced this Sunday the availability of the said device in the country starting with New Delhi, NDTV reports. The selfie phone by Oppo comes with an aluminium finish will be a dual SIM supporting device; one slot is for a micro-SIM and another for a nano-SIM. Oppo F1 runs on ColorOS 2.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The phone has a thickness of 7.25mm which is slim enough like most popular devices. It is currently priced at 15,990 INR.

The Oppo F1 smartphone also houses a 5-inch IPS display with a 720 x 1280 pixel resolution and a density of 294 ppi. The display also comes coated with a 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. Under the hood, the mobile device has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 octa-core processor with four cores at 1.7GHz and the other four at 1.2GHz. Also included in the handset are an Adreno 405 GPU and a 3GB LPDDR3 RAM which is clocked at 1866MHz.

According to Yahoo India, Oppo F1 has a 16GB internal storage which is expandable to 128GB. It is powered by a 2500 mAh battery. Since this latest offering by Oppo is a selfie-focused phone, it is unsurprising that it comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8 megapixel front camera.

NDTV adds that rear camera comes with f/2.2 aperture and single LED flash. While the front camera has a wider f/2.0 aperture with 1/4 inch sensor along with software features such as Beautify 3.0, 8 live color filters and more. The phone’s display also works as the flash in low-light environments.

Oppo’s selfie phone also includes a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, accelerometer, and digital compass. It is backed by a 2500 mAh lithium polymer battery. F1 supports 4G LTE networks (India bands supported only), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and micro USD in terms of connectivity.

During the smartpone’s CES announcement, Oppo has said that the new F-series smartphones will have photography as its central focus. And with the F1, it is clear that it did have excellent camera performance and has an exquisite design tradition. Earlier, it could be recalled that Oppo also launched the same phone in Australia where it is sold at $299 AUD.
