A college employee in North Carolina was shot dead by a gunman on Monday. The shooting took place at Wayne Community College in Goldsboro.
Ron Lane, a print shop director, was killed by a former student of the college, sources said.
Tara Humphries, the school spokesperson, mentioned that the victim was working in the organization for the last 18 years. He was killed on the third floor of the building that houses the cafeteria and the library.
Kenneth Morgan Stancil III, the 20-year-old suspect, remains on the run. He used to work under the victim. The reason for the attack is still unknown.
At around 8 a.m. on Monday, Stancil entered the campus and went to the third floor where the print shop was located. He killed his boss and then disappeared.
A first year student, Jovaun Williams, was climbing the staircase when he heard something upon reaching the second floor.
“You hear a shot and my biggest things is, get out of there,” he said to the Associated Press.
