His one-handed catch against Dallas Cowboys this season thrilled the fans. The spectacle of Giants receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will now feature on the cover of EA Sports’ Madden 16 as fans voted him marginally above New England Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski. Antonio Brown and Patric Peterson were the other two finalists for the cover. Beckham is the first Giants player to hit the video game cover.

Beckham held 91 catches for 1,305 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2014 to capture limelight and national attention. Though he missed 4 games due to a hamstring injury. Fans often say his spectacular single-handed grabs could only be played in video games. Their opinion brings the ace wide receiver in the cover of football’s biggest videogame franchise.

Fan myths of the “Madden curse” though doesn’t wary the confident receiver. Players who featured on the Madden 16 cover struggled in the following season, churning up such myth.

EA also announced that Madden NFL 16 will be released on August 25. The new edition shall introduce new controls for defenders and receivers, as revealed by EA, giving players much more control over the aerial balls. New quarterback mechanics will ensure more control of passes.
