It must be said, Nostradamus has been right about a number of things. But did he really predict Republican candidate Donald Trump to win the November 8 election?
Throughout history, the French apothecary from about 500 years ago is said to have accurately predicted the coming of World War 2 as well as the attack on the U.S. during 9/11.
Today, History Channel says that after exploring several clues and breaking Nostradamus’ code, it has now managed to determine that Nostradamus may have predicted the outcome of the U.S. election this year when it came to determining the country’s next president.
As in other cases, Nostradamus has always hidden his ‘predictions’ in a series of 4-line verses called Quatrains. These were all then organized into volumes, which are also referred to as Centuries.
According to a Reddit user, one verse referring to a Trump victory states, “The false trumpet concealing madness will cause Byzantium to change its laws. From Egypt there will go forth a man who wants the edict withdrawn, changing money and standards.”
It seems an administration under Trump will not create significant change in the U.S., but would drive everyone into madness as well.
At the same time, another verse is said to state that Trump will create such “great discord” that the U.S. will lose its current allies and possibly strengthen its ties with China or Russia instead.
Meanwhile, one verse by Nostradamus seems to predict that Trump would be a single term president should he actually win the election.
The line reads, “The great Senate will ordain the triumph For one who afterwards will be vanquished, driven out: At the sound of the trumpet of his adherents there will be Put up for sale their possessions, enemies expelled.”
Aside from this, there are those convinced that an investigation into Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s email. These are supposedly being referred to in the line, “Letters are found in the queen’s chests.”
It is unclear Nostradamus had also predicted that Clinton would be cleared of any criminal wrongdoing regarding the emails for a second time.
Nonetheless, the famous apothecary seems to have also predicted Trump’s insistence on the election being rigged.
That’s because one line read, “The false message about the rigged election to run through the city stopping the broken pact; voices bought, chapel stained with blood, the empire contracted to another one.”
There is yet to be a reaction from Donald Trump regarding Nostradamus’ centuries old statement.
