A new colorway of the Nike Kobe 11 is set to drop this week. The dotted sneaker honors one of the most popular colorways in the Kobe Bryant signature shoe line.
The Kobe 11 3D harkens back to the mystifying allure of the Kobe 6 3D, which was released with a speckled upper and alternating Nike swooshes back in 2011. Needless to say, the upcoming silhouette will also feature eye-popping color combinations.
Sneaker News indicated that the latest Kobe 11 model mixes Chlorine Blue and Total Crimson spots to produce a trippy, 3D effect. The outsole is composed of a clear white translucent rubber. Floor grip is taken care of by flat nubs with an elongated spine running down the middle of the outsole.
Nike.com explained that the flex grooves on the Kobe 11 provide multi-directional agility and explosive first step to the wearer. Lunarlon cushioning is on the forefoot to allow the toes to expand more naturally. The drop-in Lunarlon midsole features a Nike Zoom Air unit in the heel for plush cushioning during hard landings.
Support comes from the fit of the Kobe 11. Nike implemented its Flywire system as the main lacing mechanism of the shoe. When laced properly, the shoe delivers direct one-to-one fit, as per footwear reviewer NYJumpman23.
The sneaker has alternating swoosh colors of Gamma Blue and Team Red. The left shoe has the Gamma Blue swoosh and Team Red heel. the right shoe has the Team Red swoosh and the Gamma Blue heel.
The color of the Kobe branding on the tongue is also different on the two shoes. The left shoe has a Gamma Blue Kobe logo while the right shoe has a Team Red Kobe logo.
The Kobe 11 3D can be bought on Nike.com starting Wednesday July 27. The sneaker will set you back $160. Available sizes range from 7 to 15.
