Did Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s “Side to Side” music video, with its spin-class theme, copy ideas from somewhere else? Artist Lemon thinks they ripped off her original idea!
While fans of Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj swooned over them in the “Side to Side” music video, where they both get raunchy and sweaty in spin-class, UK artist Lemon claimed it was her original idea.
The rising singer said she released a music video for her song “Freak” last year with the exercise bike concept.
Lemon, a Psycle instructor, said that she created the idea for her “Freak” video after discovering that the exercise has not been used in videos before.
“I am a dancer and choreographer as well and have worked and danced for many artists such as Justin Bieber and TV shows such as Lip Sync Battle UK,” she said. “In my classes I used to create choreography on the bike. I realized this had never been done before in a music video so I wanted to be the first to create it!!”
Lemon added that her friends are in the “Freak” video, who are all “professional dancers who have toured with huge artists and other lead Psycle instructors.”
“My good friend Director 44 and Zebra Fish Media helped me create my visions from my head to the real thing,” she said.
However, Perez Hilton said, “While Lemon was the first; it doesn’t necessarily mean Ariana got the idea from Freak.”
The report noted it was not the first time Ariana Grande was accused of copying something for her music video.
Did Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj really copy from Lemon for their “Side to Side” music video?
