The Cleveland Browns have decided to cut Johnny Manziel when the League of 2016 kicks off on March 9. Browns will have to wait till the beginning of the NFL as they have no cap space to absorb his cap-hit.
Sashi Brown, Cleveland’s executive of football operations, issued a statement on Tuesday regarding Manziel’s off-field incidents.
“We’ve been clear about expectations for our players on and off the field,” Brown’s statement said. “Johnny’s continual involvement in incidents that run counter to those expectations undermines the hard work of his teammates and the reputation of our organization. His status with our team will be addressed when permitted by league rules. We will have no further comment at this time.”
Manziel is being investigated for an alleged incident with a 23-year-old female, Fort Worth Police Department revealed in a statement, according to Real GM.
The woman was involved in a disturbance with Manziel, her ex-boyfriend, according to the complainant. But Johnny Manziel is confident about his future. He reportedly told people around him that several teams have shown interest in him. The teams include the Dallas Cowboys, Los Angeles Rams and Kansas City Chiefs. The Rams had draft interest in Manziel.
