Jeff Fisher was dismissed by the Los Angeles Rams in what COO Kevin Demoff as a performance-related issue. The 58-year-old NFL coach believes that he didn’t win enough games though the setup may have been too much even for him.
Looking ahead, Fisher is waiting on offers for another NFL coaching stint. He is a tested commodity, having coached several teams. Aside from the Los Angeles Rams, he had previous stints with the Houston Oilers and the Tennessee Titans.
Jeff Fisher will be back.
With a proven track record, he is expected to hook up with another team, hopefully with better resources in place. These were factors that were never addressed but the thing is it all boiled to him unable to win games for the Rams, ESPN reported.
“I didn’t win enough games, and the organization has a much bigger picture,” he said.
Jeff Fisher wants a shot at Los Angeles Rams.
Having been relieved by the Rams, Fisher is looking to prove that he didn’t deserve the termination. To prove that point, he hopes to play against his former team at some point in the future, Yahoo Sports reported.
There are no feelers right now on which team would offer him another head coaching position. There are several teams like the Cleveland Browns and the San Francisco 49ers who could bite. All that may happen after this current season.
The Browns and the 49ers are not expected to go beyond the regular season. They are simply going through the motions of finishing this season, personnel changes of which are expected.
Like Fisher, Hue Jackson and Chip Kelly are in the hot seat. Ironically, player problems are seen as one of the reasons behind their poor showing. Fisher could improve any team where he eventually lands. But it must include a free hand as well in building up the ballclub.
