North Korea warns people they can soon face famine. The isolated state has recently sent out a message to its people for them to expect tough times ahead. Due to economic problems North Korea is facing, it believes it can soon be facing another period as grave as the “Arduous March” of the 90’s, when about three million North Koreans died from hunger.
Nonetheless, according to South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency, the article released by the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) in North Korea said that people must still commit to loyalty to Kim Jong-un “until the end of our lives.”
Former Mississippi cheerleader admits trying to join ISIS. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, 20-year-old Jaelyn Delshaun Young pleaded guilty today for conspiring with husband Muhammad Oda Dakhlalla to provide material support to ISIS in federal court before Chief U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock of the Northern District of Mississippi.
Meanwhile, Dakhlalla also pleaded guilty to the same charges earlier this month. Young’s sentencing is scheduled at a later date.
Medal to be awarded to military forces fighting ISIS in Syria and Iraq. According to the Pentagon, the new Inherent Resolve Campaign Medal recognizes efforts of service members in Iraq and Syria who had undertaken missions for 30 consecutive days or 60 nonconsecutive days.
Military members killed or injured while serving in Iraq and Syria will be automatically awarded this new medal. Operation Inherent Resolve is a campaign launched by the U.S. with various coalition forces in order to eliminate ISIS in the two countries.
Boeing expected to cut 8,000 jobs. Boeing Co is looking to cut as much as 8,000 jobs from its commercial airplane division this year in an effort to cut cost by about $1 billion. According to a report from Reuters, however, the company’s main goal is to reduce employees in its commercial airplane unit by as much as 10 percent. That amounts to a total of about 80,000 employees.

Sir Elton John charged with sexual harassment and battery by former security guard. Jeffrey Wenninger said the Grammy-winning singer and composer made sexual advances towards him three times in 2014. According to a report from TMZ, Wenninger alleged that at one point, the singer put his hands in the security’s guard’s pants as he attempted to grab his genitals and put his fingers between Wenninger’s butt cheeks.
