The New York Giants and the Green Bay Packers are expected to engage in a shootout when the two teams collide this Sunday at the Lambeau Field, Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Giants are looking to get back on the winning track but will face stiff competition in the dangerous Packers.
Despite employing a new kind of defense, things just haven’t panned up for the Giants. They do get another chance to show that as they try to move up the standings. They are tied with Washington at the cellar of the NFC East but could move up with a big win over the Giants.
To do that, Eli Manning will have to match up well in the shootout expected against the Packers’ Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers has come into his own after a slow start, something on full display against the Detroit Lions.
Best Defense Wins
With both teams expected to come out smoking, the difference-maker could be the defensive end. That said, Packers Bryan Bulaga and David Bakhtiari will need to prove their mettle against the Giants’ pair of Jason Pierre-Paul and Olivier Vernon.
Both pairs will need to a do a good job protecting their respective quarterbacks which in turn could be the difference maker.
Injuries Playing A Difference
One thing going the Giants way is the injury situation of the Packers. Clay Matthews, Letroy Guion, Datone Jones and Morgan Burnett may have returned to practice but their full state of health is still in question. Sam Shields and Jared Cook will still be out of action, Patch.com reported.
The case is no different for the Giants who will miss Nat Berhe, Marshall Newhouse, and Darian Thompson. Eli Apple and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie are questionable so it will all boil down to the healthy big boys on the playing field.
