This New York Chocolate Museum Is Every Chocoholic’s Dream Come True

If you love chocolate more than anything, this is the museum you should be making your way to.

For master chocolatier Jacques Torres, chocolate is his main passion. In fact, everyone knows he loves chocolate so much that he is now referred to as Mr. Chocolate. And using this passion, he decided to one delicious, chocolate rich gift: the very first Choco-Story museum in the U.S.

Currenty, there are several Choco-Story concept museums around the world. They are found in Belgium, Paris, Prague and Mexico. For the first time, Choco-Story concept creator Eddy Van Belle decided to bring the experience to the U.S.

Choco-Story New York, The Chocolate Museum and Experience with Jacques Torres is an ode to everything chocolate. Here, visitors can educate themselves on anything and everything there is to know about chocolate. You will discover that the first recorded mention of cocoa was around 5,500 years ago. You will also see various chocolate exhibits that may just bring out the Willy Wonka in you.

The Choco-Story museum in New York covers 5,000 square feet of space. If you wish, you can take a self-guided journey to discover how chocolate came to be “from tree to bar.” You will also see a number of original artifacts and experienced up to nine premium tastings during your tour. During your tour, don’t forget to check out how Mayan hot chocolate is freshly grounded by hand. There is also a delicious bon-bon making demonstration here, something any chocolate lover will enjoy.

There’s a place for kids inside Choco-Story too.

If you happen to be visiting with kids, don’t forget to take them to the museum’s kid’s corner. It is said to be an educational space where kids get to dig some “undiscovered artifacts.” At the same time, there is also a play chocolate shop where they can pretend to own a chocolate business themselves.

At the same time, there is also a Chocolate Making Experience class held at the museum every Wednesdays and Saturdays. With this class, you can easily learn the basics of making chocolate and even take your own chocolate creations home.

Choco-Story New York is located at 350 Hudson St. The entrance fee is from $10 to $15.
