A blog post on the Need for Speed website has confirmed that Electronic Arts and Ghost are working on releasing the next NFS in the year 2017. The reveal was stated along with another announcements for a new 2015 NFS update.
Although many fans were expecting another update for NFS 2015, Ghost developers confirmed that the “Speedlist update” will be the “last free update.” According to Eurogamer, the reboot of 2015 NFS last year wasn’t as successful as it was expected.
The speedlist update was revealed on the 25th of last month by Ben Walke on the Need for Speed Website. The update is available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One, with new award titles “based on your overall position.” You can check out the update notes here.
EA released their last title on November 2015 and went on to reboot the game and include free updates to help it run longer. In a recent post by IGN, the website gave 2015’s NFS a rating of 6.3/10. Even after EA’s setbacks, Ghost developers intend to develop and improve the upcoming NFS titles based on the feedback provided by the gaming community.
The post says, “The feedback our community has already given us is already shaping the future of Need for Speed and it will continue to do so as we move further into the development of the next game.”
The website also released inforgraphics of NFS, flaunting the gamer’s engagement since its release, the image states that players have taken part in 550 million events and earned a total cash of $2,494,622,553,950 (in-game).
