20th Century Fox has released a redband trailer for “Deadpool,” which is a trailer that… well, tells us to wait for a trailer… tomorrow.
The 45-second footage shows Ryan Reynolds in costume playing the bad-mouthing mercenary. In most trailers, viewers are shown what the movie is all about. But in this new Deadpool trailer, we are told to wait for another trailer.
Slashfilm notes that this is the same footage shown during Comic-Con. Only the dialogue was changed.
The promised trailer is possibly the one scheduled to premiere on “Conan.” As per the show’s schedule, Ryan Reynolds will make a guest appearance on August 4 and debut a new redband trailer for the movie. “We’re filling up his dressing room with chimichangas in anticipation,” according to the website.
“Deadpool” also stars Morena Baccarin in the role of Copycat, Gina Carano as Angel Dust, Ed Skrein as Ajax, T.J. Miller as Weasel, Andre Tricoteux as Colossus, and Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead.
Simon Kinberg, writer-producer of the movie, told Entertainment Weekly on set that the film is graphic, and that nothing will be considered taboo. “You either commit to a truly outrageous, boundary-pushing kind of movie or you don’t.”
Judging by its recently released trailer for a trailer, it seems as if multiple boundaries will be pushed indeed.
