Defending champions Golden State Warriors have waived Ben Gordon on Wednesday. The Warriors signed the 11-year veteran two weeks ago.

Defending champions Golden State Warriors have waived Ben Gordon on Wednesday. The Warriors signed the 11-year veteran two weeks ago.

Gordon, 32, averaged 1.0 points and 1.0 assists in 8.3 minutes in his two preseason games with the Warriors. The guard has averaged 14.9 points per game for his career. Gordon was brought in the training camp on a tryout basis.

Golden State still have point guards Chris Babb, Ian Clark, Jarell Eddie and Juwan Staten in their roster with non-guaranteed deals.

New Orleans Pelicans sign Mirza Begic

The New Orleans Pelicans have signed 7 footer Mirza Begic. 7-foot-1 Begic played in the Spanish ACB League. There he featured for Laboral Kutxa Baskonia. Begić played for Slovenia, Italy, Lithuania, Greece and Spain since 2003 after going undrafted in 2007 NBA draft.

Begic is a two-time All-star in the Slovenia League (2007-2009). The Yugoslavian native was a Lithuanian League All-Star (2010). He led the Euro-League in blocked shots in 2011 with 2.3 blocks per game.

With Begic’s inclusion, the Pelicans roster rose to 20 men.
