The Utah Jazz have exercised their third-year team option on Dante Exum and Rodney Hood. The franchise is also applying their fourth-year option on point-guard Trey Burke and center Rudy Gobert.
All four guys have the options for 2016-2017 season.
Dante Exum, a 20-year-old, appeared in all 82 games last season as a rookie. He had 41 starts. He averaged 4.8 points, 1.6 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 22.2 minutes, being the 10th man in franchise history to have made 82 starts and posted more than ten points in 13 games. He also led in assists.
Rodney Hood averaged 8.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists, hitting .365 from the three-point range, in 21.3 minutes of 50 appearances (21 starts) during his rookie campaign last season. This is going to be young Hood’s second NBA season. The 22-year-old earned the honors of NBA Rookie of the Western Conference after raising his average to 16.7 last season.
At 22, Trey Burke is also entering his 3rd NBA season. In his NBA career so far, Burke has appeared in 146 games including 111 starts, where he averaged 12.8 points, as well as 2.8 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 31.2 minutes.
23-year-old Rudy Gobert appeared in all 82 games in the 2014-15 season including 37 starts. He averaged 8.4 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in 26.3 minute. He was placed third as NBA’s Most Improved Player last season. He is entering his third NBA season.
Exum and Hood were fifth and 23rd overall pick of the Jazz during 2014-15 draft.
