The New Orleans Pelicans are hunting for a partner for Anthony Davis. But will they target Jared Sullinger before the trade deadline?
Sullinger was selected by the Boston Celtics as the 21st pick. There were concerns about the player’s back. The Celtics are looking for a quality center since Kevin Garnett left for Brooklyn Nets. The Celtics are plagued with problems regarding rotational level big men. They are looking forward to trade before the February deadline.
The Pelicans may send Alexis Ajinca to Celtics. Sullinger is required at New Orleans as Ryan Anderson didn’t gel will Anthony Davis. Sullinger is a monster in a glass. Anderson is about to become an unrestricted free agent.
Sully has posted an impressive defensive rebound rate of 28.1%, which draws serious trade interests from the Pelicans camp. The rate is as effective as Omer Asik. Despite having played 200 minutes less than Anderson, Sullinger has registered twice the number of assists than him. But Sullinger has his weaknesses as a rim protector and a three-point shooter.
So, experts opine that the Pelicans should trade power forward Anderson for a rounded big man.
