The Phoenix Suns forward desperately wanted trade from his current side. He has even been fined $10,000 by the League for demanding trade publicly on Twitter.
Markieff Morris has been linked to many teams since he expressed his desire to leave the Suns immediately. Morris started demanding trade after his twin brother Marcus was traded to the Detroit Pistons early July. Now, Markieff Morris himself is linked to the Detroit Pistons, according to latest reports.
Chuck Myron of Hoops Rumors wrote that Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons are favorable landing places for the Suns forward.
“The Wizards would make an intriguing destination. So would the Pistons, given Stan Van Gundy’s affinity for stretch fours,” Myron wrote. “Detroit, of course, is where Marcus Morris is, and it would surely please both of them to no end if they could be reunited.”
Detroit Pistons comes into consideration as their coach Stan Van Gundy loves to use the power forwards for shooting from beyond the arc.
But Van Gundy’s offer may not be lucrative for Markieff as the Pistons have already roped in Ersan Ilyasova in a trade with the Milwaukee Bucks this offseason, Myron also pointed out.
Though the biggest hindrance in this trade is that the Suns might not be interested in allowing Markieff to reunite with his brother Marcus in Pistons. Phoenix Suns coach Jeff Hornacek thinks the franchise and the power forward can still reconcile.
