The Chicago Bulls have traded Kirk Hinrich to Atlanta Hawks for a second round draft pick on the deadline day. Hinrich played for the Hawks for one season before he was traded to the Bulls.
At the quiet culmination of the deadline, Hinrich was traded by Chicago to Atlanta amid widespread speculation regarding Pau Gasol and Taj Gibson. Hinrich joined the Bulls in 2012-13 season from the Hawks and proved his worth, according to Real GM.
The Bulls moves were partly to lower their luxury tax debt and also to gain roster spot for future. The Bulls received a second round draft pick along with Justin Holiday, who was with the Golden State Warriors last season. The 6-6 Holiday is from Washington and is a defense-oriented shooting guard, as reports the NBA.com.
The Bulls also gained a trade exception. The Bulls were expected to trade Pau Gasol who is set to become a free agent this off-season. But currently, both parties have expressed mutual interest to return next season.
