The Atlanta Hawks signed point-guard Sosa to a camp deal on Friday. Sosa appeared for Louisville in his collegiate career for four years. In second round of NCAA tournament in 2007, he made a mark by scoring 31 points and was 15-for-15 from the 3-point line.
With less than 30 seconds and trailing by one, Sosa posted 0 for 2 from the line guiding his side to an emphatic win. He featured in Italy and Germany after going undrafted in 2010 NBA draft. He played in Detroit Pistons in NBA summer league in Vegas, but couldn’t make it to their final roster. In that edition of league he averaged 6.5 points and 2.8 assists.
Sosa played for Dominican Republic in the FIBA America tournament where Hawks’ current assistant coach Kenny Atkinson was head coach. Sosa posted a decent average of 15.1 points while shooting 54 percent from the floor.
In Italy, Sosa played with Dinamo Sassari and went on to win the Italian League title.
