Deron Williams led Dallas Mavericks to win in double overtime with a buzzer-beater three-pointer on Tuesday night over Sacramento Kings. Rajon Rondo finds himself once more in a controversy at Dallas by attempting to trip Williams.
Rondo sat out the Kings-Mavs game with a back spasm. But he was on the bench as a reserve. Former Dallas guard Rondo kicked Williams from the sidelines in an attempt to distract him while he was pump-faking Seth Curry. A slow-motion replay shows Williams trying to make contact from behind by swinging his right foot around Williams’ heels.
No one noticed Williams’ feet at that point. So only the replay captured it, and Rondo got away with it.
It looks like the League won’t pull out Rondo for this, but surely this goes against the rules of the game.
