Fans are assured that developers at 2K Sports have been listening to NBA 2K17 wishlist and have rectified a big issue in the upcoming basketball video game. The face scan application introduced in NBA 2K15 was the biggest disappointment due to its poor rendering of facial scans. However, a new hint claims we might not have to worry about the same issue again.
During 2K insider Ronnie Singh’s talk in NBA 2KTV Season 2 Finale, we were able to figure out that the developers may have upgraded their face scanning application for NBA 2K17. Judging his actions it looks like the new facial rendering feature will be embedded in the form of an app in mobile devices.
According to Forbes, the new face scanning technology introduced in mobile devices was first initiated by EA Sports for NBA Live 16. The application was called GameFace 2.0 and can be used at ease with quick and convincing renders although the person’s skin color was slightly different from reality.
Ronnie Singh also spoke about other out-of-the-world features that we can expect in NBA 2K17 like an Underwater Arena and not to forget Adidas Yeezy Boost by Kanye West, which was part of some gamers’ NBA 2K17 wishlist. It remains to be seen, though, whether or not the insider is just trying to excite fans.
The new upgrade in face scanning application is expected to become a game changer for NBA 2K17. If the developers have been listening to the feedback from the gaming community, the app will probably be capable of rendering faces accurately without experiencing too much glitches.
NBA 2K17 will be hitting the stores on September 20 in PC, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3. The lucky few that pre-ordered the game will get in on September 16th. To know if your NBA 2K17 wishlist will be heard, watch the video below to listen to Ronnie Singh discuss about NBA 2K17.
