With the transfer of “Nashville” season 5 from ABC to CMT, fans can certainly expect great things to come.
While a number of fans were happy upon learning that a new network picked up the show for it to continuously air its 5th season, there might have been some who thought about the new things that CMT can probably offer.
In an interview with Deadline, CMT programming chief Jayson Dinsmore revealed one idea that the team is planning for “Nashville” season 5.
“We’re thinking about doing an aftershow,” the executive shared. “Nothing’s set in stone but imagine if we did sort of a ‘Talking Dead’ for ‘Nashville’ where we had some of the cast, maybe some performances, maybe some fans come and talk about the show.”
“We do it in the studio, sort of engage the audience and that loyal fan base on a deeper level,” Dinstone added. “That’s something we can afford to do in cable that they probably don’t have the opportunity at broadcast.”
When it comes to the particular cast members who are coming back for “Nashville” season 5 though, he did not disclose any names.
“Again, it’s really early,” he quipped, as he noted that “we’re just having those conversations now with the producers” despite the fact that several cast members were with them during the CMA’s Best recently.
On the other hand, Variety reported that following the program’s transfer to CMT, a number of items used for seasons 1 to 4 will be up for grabs at the VIP Fan Auctions.
The report disclosed that a total of 270 items from “Nashville” will be part of the auction, wherein each week, new items, including a wedding dress worn by Connie Britton’s Rayna James, will be available for auction for a period of seven days.
“Nashville” season 5 fans can already start bidding for the featured items by July 26.
