A woman recycled an Apple 1 computer while cleaning out her garage. This can now fetch her $100,000. The old Apple 1, made by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, was given out as a donation to a Silicon Valley recycling firm, which earned $200,000 from a private auction. The firm now wants to share its earning with the mystery woman as it is the policy of the recycler to split the earning 50-50 for all goods.
The computer was hidden in several boxes while the woman was cleaning her garage after her husband’s death.
According to a Guardian report, CleanBayArea vice president Victor Gichun told NBC that the box was dropped off back in April, but the woman did not claim a tax receipt. Gichun also said that the woman did not leave her address. He remembers, though, exactly what she looks like.
The Apple 1 computer in question was manufactured in 1976. It is one of the 200 that were manufactured back then. Each piece was sold for $666.66. Only a few are remaining now.
Gichun has requested the lady to please visit him again and collect the amount that she deserves.
