Much will be looked forward to in the coming “Mr. Robot” season 2 as reports said it will be exploring virtual reality.
The award-winning hit television series which tackles issues on corrupt corporations, privacy and security on this age’s internet crazy world, and the abuse of power of those in position, is open to introduce other forms of storytelling.
“We just shot a VR scene for ‘Mr. Robot,'” NBC Universal Cable Entertainment chief content officer Jeff Wachtel last Tuesday at Variety’s annual TV Summit.
It can be recalled that “Mr. Robot” season 2 trailer has released the tagline, “Control an illusion” which fits the virtual reality element for the show, CNET said in a report.
Despite not fully revealing the plot details of “Mr. Robot” season 2, the chief said that it will dwell more on the characters.
“”It’s really about storytelling,” he dished out. “It’s intimate and about the characters.”
“I am so very specific in how I want to shoot the show and the visual grammar of how I want to tell the story,” he said.
He added that he does not have any bad blood with the season one’s director but he just wants to make the series more efficient.
“It’s nothing against our directors in the first season, because they were all great to work with,” he said. “For me, it feels like it would be easier to manage day to day. I’m on the set every day anyway, and I just think it would make the whole show be more efficient.”
The coming season will also tackle the F society’s cyber attack on giant Evil Corp as well as Elliot Alderson’s (Rami Malek) struggle in dealing with his past.
“Mr. Robot” season 2 will return to USA Network on July 13.
