Manchester United and Southampton have reached an agreement for the transfer of Morgan Schneiderlin.
The deal was said to be £24million. The midfielder, according to The Telegraph, “underwent a medical at United’s Carrington training base on Sunday, where he joined the other major midfield recruit Bastian Schweinsteiger.”
The 25-year-old central midfielder is expected to join the club’s US tour on Monday. He is the fourth fourth major purchase of the summer.
Two other clubs, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur, earlier showed interest in the French player.
United earlier offered £20million for the transfer but was turned down. It was more than the valuation of the other two clubs at £10million each. Southampton valued Schneiderlin at £25million, but the £24milion with United sealed the deal.
He is to join the Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, according to BBC Sports.
