One mom was in a bit of trouble during a flight until a flight attendant stepped in to assist.
Whitney Poyntz never thought she would have so much trouble with her baby while on a plane. Poyntz and her husband were on a WestJet flight bound for Calgary, Canada from Pal Springs California. They were nearly positive that everything was going to go smoothly since their four-month-old daughter had been asleep when they boarded the flight. ” Our daughter was asleep when we boarded so we figured it would be an easy peasy flight. Man, were we wrong,” Poyntz said.
Things did start to go awry when the intercom came on. It woke the baby right up. The little girl started to fuss but Poyntz managed to soothe her daughter. The baby went back to sleep and the couple thought it would be an uneventful flight from then on. Unbeknownst to the parents though, their baby had other plans.
Just 30 minutes later, Poyntz’s daughter had woken up again. This time, she refused to go back to sleep and her parents were quickly running out of options. “Not sure if it was gas or maybe pressure but we did not have a happy baby, unfortunately, those seats aren’t made for rocking or trying to put a baby back to sleep,” Poyntz explained in a post.

The couple struggled to get their baby to sleep again. Not long after, one hero came to the rescue, a flight attendant by the name of Ashley. “Ashley came up to us and asked if she could take her and walk up and down the isle,” Poyntz recalled. She wasn’t sure if she wanted to accept Ashley’s help at first. “First thought in my head was ‘umm a stranger wants to walk my screaming child up and down the isle?!?!'”
However, Poyntz eventually decided to give it a try. And that is how Ashley ended up walking their baby up and down the aisle during the flight. Eventually, the baby settled down to her parents’ relief. Poyntz was also amazed by Ashley’s assistance throughout their baby ordeal. “Westjet (Ashley) I would like to thank you for the over and above customer service (baby whispering) that you gave,” Poyntz wrote.
Moreover, Poyntz had also remarked that WestJet is “truly the greatest airline.”
