Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee expressed his condemnation over the deal reached by the United States and other nations on Iran’s nuclear program, saying President Barack Obama is marching Israelis “to the door of the oven,” a reference to the Nazi death camps.
“This president’s foreign policy is the most feckless in American history,” Huckabee told Breitbart News on Saturday.
“It is so naive that he would trust the Iranians. By doing so, he will take the Israelis and march them to the door of the oven.”
It was a reference to the Holocaust, which was responsible for the deaths of several millions of Jews in the height of the World War II.

Huckabee further said, “This is the most idiotic thing, this Iran deal. It should be rejected by both Democrats and Republicans in Congress and by the American people. I read the whole deal. We gave away the whole store. It’s got to be stopped.”
Following the former Arkansas governor’s comments, the head of the Democratic National Committee demanded an apology from Huckabee.
Criticism over the accord reached on July 14 that aims to curb Iran’s nuclear program in return for easing economic sanctions has also been expressed by several other U.S. Republicans, as reported by BBC.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that the deal could be a potential threat to Israel’s survival. He said that the deal would feed an “Iranian terror machine” and give Tehran “a sure path to nuclear weapons,” urging that the US lawmakers reject the deal.
Following the comments, Huckabee soon became a trending topic on social media.
Mike Huckabee is right about the Iran deal. A nuclear Iran is deadly to America and fatal for Israel.

However, not everyone appreciated Huckabee’s comments.
Mike Huckabee is a con artist of the highest order who uses the Shoah as a joke or political battering ram. Jews mean nothing to him.

Deborah Wasserman-Schultz, a U.S. Representative for Florida who chairs the Democratic National Committee, said, “Cavalier analogies to the Holocaust are unacceptable.”
“Mike Huckabee must apologise to the Jewish community and to the American people for this grossly irresponsible statement,” she said.
The National Jewish Democratic Council (NJDC) said that it “denounced” Huckabee’s remarks “in the strongest possible terms,” as reported by The Guardian.
In a statement, NJDC said, “Far, far too often, this organization has found itself forced to denounce politicians for invoking the Holocaust in inappropriate and offensive ways. These comments by Governor Mike Huckabee, however, may be the most inexcusable we’ve encountered in recent memory.
“To state that President Obama is leading Israelis ‘to the door of the oven’ is not only disgustingly offensive to the president and the White House, but shows utter, callous disregard for the millions of lives lost in the Shoah and to the pain still felt by their descendants today.”
According to a CNN/ORC poll released Sunday, Huckabee stands at the seventh spot with support of 5 percent of Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters. At present, there are 16 declared Republican candidates.
